Frequently Asked Questions

Planning Your Uganda Safari

FAQ

The questions travelers and advisors ask most before booking a Uganda safari, answered plainly. Ask us anything else on the contact page.

Uganda safari packages vary with the parks visited, the level of accommodation and the length of stay. Gorilla trekking permits are set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority at USD 800 per person for foreign visitors, and chimpanzee permits cost less. The rest of the itinerary, including accommodation, transport and guiding, is built around your preferences and budget. Ask us for a custom quote.
Uganda’s two dry seasons, June to September and December to February, bring easier trekking and better game viewing. Gorilla trekking runs all year, and the wetter months bring lower lodge rates and fewer visitors.
Most visitors need a Uganda visa, issued online through Uganda’s eVisa portal or as part of the East Africa Tourist Visa, which also covers Kenya and Rwanda. We advise on the current requirements while planning your itinerary.
Gorilla trekking permits are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and limited to eight visitors per habituated gorilla family per day, across more than 20 habituated families in Bwindi and Mgahinga. As your ground partner we secure and manage permits directly. Book as early as you can, especially for June to September and December to February.
Yes. Scheduled flights connect Entebbe with airstrips serving Bwindi, Kidepo Valley, Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth, saving a full day of road travel each way for travelers with limited time.
